The Indian Institute of Jewellery is constantly foraying in to new spheres of work, be it as a Vocation Training Provider or with India’s very first Post Graduate Diploma in Jewellery Management, there is always a need to do more. Now, IIJ is making its way in to the publishing business. Having realized that there is a demand for, and subsequent lack of, well-written, efficiently edited and adequately distributed books, based on gems and jewellery, IIJ has decided to take some action.
 
The aim is to build an end-to-end publishing chain. This will take up not only the publishing of the book, but editing, marketing and distribution as well. This division, IIJ’s newest, will bear responsibility of taking the book from its inception and conceptualization to final sales that is, to a complete closure. While initially the intention is to accommodate material from in-house gems and jewellery experts, future plans look to broaden the scope of the division to include work from external authors as well.

At IIJ, we realize that an important, and often overlooked, aspect of success is relevance. This is why we strive to ensure that our curriculum and our teaching methodology always stay relevant. As an effort to ensure a good measure of relevance even in our newly published books, surveys will constantly be conducted in the gems and jewellery industry as a way of understanding what exactly is most required, in terms of literature, by professionals and students currently involved in this industry.
